Safety of School Buildings Debate

Yesterday, Labour held a Shadow Opposition Debate to highlight concerns about the safety of school buildings which have sadly fell into disrepair under 13 years of Tory Government.

They then went on to vote to keep parents in the dark about the real extent of their children’s crumbling schools.

I used this opportunity to highlight the the excellent schools that were built in my constituency under the last Labour Government:

“In my constituency, under the last Labour Government, Springwell Park Community Primary School, Rimrose Hope C of E Primary School, All Saints Catholic Primary School, Litherland High School and South Sefton further education college were all built, and we got rid of all of the temporary portacabin classrooms. All that was in addition to all the other significant investment by the Labour Government.”
